Day 1
Cumberland Falls

Thursday we left home with the forecast of rain all day. It rained off & on for most of the drive, but nothing bad enough to hinder the trip. It took approx 4 hours to reach Corbin, KY.

The drive up to the lodge was very pretty. A little fall color dotted around, but they were still about 2 weeks away from peak.

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park Lodge. Cool stones and big old timbers. Since it's our anniversary, they upgraded us to a King suite & we got the best view in the place.

The gorgeous view from our room...

The view, with zooming...

The family of racoons that joined us for breakfast & dinner. These were taken by hanging out our room's window. Love that zoom.

Cumberland Falls. First image is from on top, right next to the falls. The 2nd image is from the upper falls overlook.

Me at the lower falls overlook. The mist was incredible.

From the lower overlook when the sun came out...Absolutely gorgeous!

Various scenery from the area...

Chris enjoying the view from the overlook near the hotel...

What little bursts of fall color around were just enough to appease my autumn needs.

The coming storm while at the falls....
