Our Road Trip to The French Quarter Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana.

April 14-18, 2004.....

Woohoo! We're on the road!

What a gorgeous drive...Sunny skies the whole way :-D Through Ky & TN we had redbuds and dogwoods in full bloom.

Through Alabama & Mississippi the majestic Southern Pines towered above us. The best part was that no one else was on the road, so we were able to just kick back and enjoy the drive.

Drove 8 hours on Wednesday to Meridian, Mississippi, and then finished the 5 hours to New Orleans Thursday morning.

We entered New Orleans about noon, found a parking spot, and ventured out to enjoy all N.O. has to offer. Finally about 7 that evening we got into our room on the 18th floor...

The architecture alone is enough reason to visit. The balconies are as diverse as the people who live there.

The Bead balcony...

The oldest place in the Quarter...on Bourbon Street...which is really the only reason to visit Bourbon. Truly...Bourbon is a loud, busy tourist trap. I had much more fun on the less traveled streets and in hidden courtyards.

A few misc sites...

Hooked up with our friends, Thomas and Trish, while there. I didn't get a pic of Trish :(

Enjoyed the quiet side of the French Quarter with music and friends.

Spent some time in his "living room" aka Coops...nice atmosphere, good food, and Thomas as dj on the Internet Juke Box

Somewhere in the heart of KY...

And what exactly are the specifications for a used cow??
