Day 3 - Monday, June 11th
We spent our first day at Pawleys Island. I made my throne
in the sand and made sure no pictures were taken of me:) Devynne decorated my
throne before making her way to the water. Chris lost his sunglasses in the
ocean shortly after getting in so he took over possession of Logan's Logan declared
he was in sand heaven and never wanted to go home. Sand & water as far as
the eyes could see. He spent most of his time working on his castle...
After most of the day in the sun we went back to the hotel
for a quick nap before heading out to dinner. We ate at CrabbyJoes where I ate
enough crab & butter for 3 people. YUM. Logan finally tried it and quickly
discovered what all the fuss was about. After dinner we went over to Garden
City Beach for high tide. Awesome. The massiveness of the ocean really comes
out at high tide. The sun was low in the sky so we grabbed a few quick shots
while Logan ran full force, fully clothed, into the water.
It was at this point I declared I would NOT be leaving the cans as I'd done
the night before (well actually I snuck out 2-3). It's free money, it's appalling
the amount that are in the cans, and they would be coming home with me to go
towards our trip next year to Montana. I left that night with 5 bags and felt
great about it. Chris kept shaking his head at me, but agreed it was something
I had to do...especially considering many of them were already neatly in bags
already :-P
The kids ended the day with a hour or so in the pool. Had to get to bed early
though as we had plans to watch the sunrise the next morning...
